Why WWE SmackDown Fans Are Excited About Tonight’s Match Card

Wrestling accounts on X are circulating the advertised card for tonight’s WWE SmackDown. According to the posts, it includes two Money in the Bank qualifying matches and a Steel Cage match for the United States Championship. Much of the conversation is list-sharing: accounts in several languages are posting the same core lineup, adding regional start times, and noting who else is advertised to appear.

What started the conversation

One of the most-liked posts came from @EliteClubS0B, which shared what it called the card for “tomorrow’s SmackDown” a day ahead of the show. The post lists an appearance by Sami Zayn, described there as Undisputed Champion. It also says Cody Rhodes is advertised and lists three matches: Finn Bálor vs. CM Punk vs. GUNTHER and Giulia vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Lash Legend, both billed as Money in the Bank qualifiers, and Trick Williams vs. Baron Corbin in a Steel Cage match for the United States Championship. The post has drawn more than a thousand likes.

On the day of the show, @WrestleOps posted its own “advertised for SmackDown tonight” rundown, which picked up a similar number of likes. It repeats the three headline matches and adds a fourth: Fatal Influence vs. Chelsea Green, Tiffany Stratton and Paige.

The card as it is being shared

Across the posts, the lineup is largely consistent. Here is the card as the circulating posts describe it:

• Men’s Money in the Bank qualifier: Finn Bálor vs. CM Punk vs. GUNTHER
• Women’s Money in the Bank qualifier: Giulia vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Lash Legend
• United States Championship Steel Cage match: Trick Williams vs. Baron Corbin. Several posts, including those from @Fightful and @_PWChronicle, mark Williams as the champion.
• Six-woman tag match: Chelsea Green, Tiffany Stratton and Paige vs. Fatal Influence, which @WrestleSeek labels a six-woman tag

According to @LuigiWrestling and @_PWChronicle, the show is set for Indianapolis. The Spanish-language post from @LuigiWrestling names the venue as the Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Posts from @WrestleSeek and several anonymous accounts, including a French-language one, lay out the same matches in slightly different orders.

Most of these posts simply list the matches without commentary. The clearest opinion in the set comes from @LuigiWrestling, which singles out the men’s triple threat and says, in Spanish, that it looks very promising.

Where the posts differ

The versions do not all match. The @Fightful post lists only the two qualifiers and the cage match, with no tag bout. Some anonymous posts also leave out the six-woman match. Others, including @WrestleOps and @WWEDeutschland, include it.

The non-match segments vary as well. The @EliteClubS0B post is the only notable post here that mentions Sami Zayn and Cody Rhodes. One anonymous “SmackDown rundown” post, which credits another account as its source, lists both a Cody Rhodes segment and a Randy Orton segment placed among the matches. That post also appears to suggest a running order, with the cage match near the top and the men’s triple threat at the end. None of the other posts give a match order, so that detail rests on a single post.

Watching from outside the US

Some posts are aimed at viewers outside North America. The @LuigiWrestling post gives a list of start times:

• 8pm ET / 5pm PT for the US and Canada
• 2:00 for Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Poland and Belgium
• 1:00 for the Canary Islands, Portugal, Equatorial Guinea, the UK and Ireland
• 9pm for Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil and Chile
• 8pm for Venezuela, Bolivia, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic

The German-language account @WWEDeutschland gives its own viewing details. According to the post, the show airs live overnight at 2am with US commentary on BILD.de and is available on demand afterward. A version with German commentary is listed for Saturday at 22:10 on ProSiebenMAXX.

A French-language anonymous post also shares the lineup. Together, these posts show the card being passed around in Spanish, German, French and English.

What the posts don’t answer

The circulating posts are previews, not results. None of them indicate who is expected to win either qualifier or the cage match, and none describe any storyline developments beyond the listed matchups and segments. That leaves the open questions exactly where they started:

• Who will come out of the two Money in the Bank qualifiers, and how that will shape later events is not addressed in any of the posts.
• What happens inside the Steel Cage for the United States Championship is also left open. The posts only list the matchup, and several of them identify Trick Williams as the current titleholder.
• The segments are uncertain. Only one post mentions Sami Zayn, and only one anonymous post mentions a Randy Orton segment. It is not clear from the conversation what those appearances will involve.

Because these details come from advertised cards and rundowns shared before the show, any of them could change on the night.

Why the card is getting shared

Much of the activity comes from repetition. Large wrestling news accounts, fan pages and an official regional WWE account are posting nearly identical lists within hours of each other. The two biggest posts, from @EliteClubS0B and @WrestleOps, account for most of the engagement. Smaller accounts like @_PWChronicle and @WrestleSeek are filling in the same details.

The card itself packs several recognizable names into two three-way qualifiers, with a title match in a cage alongside them. That combination gives accounts plenty to list. Beyond the one post praising the men’s triple threat, though, the conversation so far is mostly about what is scheduled, not about predictions.
